City of
Hope Ministries, Inc.
During 2005, City of Hope Ministries accomplished
the following objectives:
- The Board of Directors began meeting quarterly.
- The rezoning for Browns Mill Road Property designated for Senior
Housing was approved on June 14, 2005 by the Dekalb County Board
of Commissioners.
- City of Hope Ministries and Columbia Residential, LLC entered
into a Joint Venture agreement on August 31, 2005 in preparation
for the development of the Senior Housing Project. The submission
of the application for tax credits is planned for May 2006 with
the anticipation of breaking ground in February 2007.
- The first international mission trip for the Hope Clinic was
August 14 – 21, 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya with 55 persons serving
as missionaries.
City of Hope Ministries is an outgrowth of the
Ray of Hope Christian Church. It was established to provide much
needed service and development to the communities surrounding the
Church. The leadership of the Church believed that a separate entity
would provide the most effective vehicle through which positive
change in the community could be accomplished.
Divisions and Action Plans
Hope Thru Health Clinic
- Develop a five year plan
- Apply for CDC designation
- Determine location, funding
sources, partners, marketing, impact measurement, staffing, structure,
budget, etc.
Housing & Community Economic Development
- Task force to review HUD loan
applications, construction plans, etc.
- Have 40-60 units operational
by 2006
Education, Employment & Training
- Develop a plan and budget for
pre-school and after school care
