Before & After School ProgramChildren are our future and as part of our commitment to our vision for the City of Hope, it is necessary for children ages 5-12 years to have a safe, caring, and exciting learning environment. We propose to offer a Before and After School Program to meet this growing need in our community. The After School Program will offer a Mandatory Study Hall, access to computer technology and Physical Activity to fight childhood obesity. Our Program will be open on Teacher Workdays and during spring break. We want to relieve the question as to where children can go to learn, be cared for and have a safe haven while their parents are working. HOPE KIDS After School Program is the answer! |
Hope Through Health ClinicAffordable healthcare continues to be a major challenge for many people so we are continuing our efforts to establish a permanent site for the Hope Through Health Clinic in Dekalb County. We are exploring current property possibilities, land acquisitions, and healthcare partnerships. The advisory committee can benefit from persons with skills and expertise in a number of areas: healthcare, marketing and needs analysis, grant writing and research, fundraising and capacity building. |
Economic DevelopmentOur vision is to economically empower our members and the community through Stewardship education and community partnerships. Through education, we will be able to transform the lives of our members financially and achieve financial freedom and economic power for the church and our community. When our families are financially healthy, then the church will be healthy and our community as well. EvangelismEvangelism should be viewed in two aspects. The first is inviting individuals into a personal relationship with Jesus; the second is looking at evangelism as the mechanism that will produce church growth. You are encouraged to join the evangelism ministry as we provide a more balanced approach to evangelism. Persons who are committed to and have a heart for saving souls are invited to be a part of this exciting ministry opportunity. |
Housing DevelopmentLast year our rezoning application for the Browns Mill Road property was approved for senior housing, which allowed us to move forward with plans to build affordable housing for senior citizens. This year we are continuing with phase two of the project, which includes coordination with DeKalb County housing officials and others in the development of our finances and building construction. We anticipate breaking ground on the property in February 2007. The housing development advisory committee is also exploring various other housing needs and land acquisitions options, to ensure the housing needs of all persons are met in the City of Hope. The committee can benefit from persons with skills and expertise in a number of areas: developers, architects, persons with skills and expertise in land zoning regulations, church building finances, grant writing, and housing development. |
